I started having high blood pressure at 33 weeks and my daughter was born in May 3 weeks early. Although she was only 5#'s, she is healthy. After delivery, my blood pressure was still up. They started me on Labetalol when she was a week old. My dosage had to be increased to 4oo mg twice a day because my BP was still high. I am exclusively breastfeeding my daughter and my OB told me that Labetalol was very safe. However, I've noticed that my daughter acts like her stomach is upset all the time. This started once I began the Labetalol. I know that upset stomach is a side effect for me. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, I've been on this medicine for 3 weeks and my BP is still kind of high. Has anyone else had this Problem? If so, what did you do?
