Hypertension can be caused by several things. The chosen medication
should address said cause. Assuming that these medications didn't help
her, she may be using the wrong type. She might want to try a beta
blocker (e.g. Lopressor) or a nitrate (e.g. Imdur)...

These usually subside with continued use and/or a temporary dosage
reduction. Did she have an adequate trial period ?

CoQ10 is good for angina/ischemia, but not so effective for hypertension.
If you want to try a natural supplement, Garlic would be your best bet,
but she'd have to take an amount that would likely cause GI upset.

Best to see a competent cardiologist...
