In addition to leafy green vegetables, and brocolli, which is actually
flower buds, canned salmon with all the bones is an excellent calcium
source. There are lots of ways to serve it. The simplest is to remove
the lack skin if it bothers you, chill it, drizzle it with a little
favorite salad dressing, or even just lemnn juice, and dill weed if you
like, and eat it straight. Other possibilities: in pasta salad, or mixed
with potatoes and baked as a loaf or patties. And, in many places,
including Family Dollar, very cheap but tasty salmon is available for
very little. Fancier salmon is more expensive but no better a source of
calcium.
