I would seriously consider changing doctors if possible.

While I can't help with specific drugs (though a glance through my source
book notes that most beta blockers are compatable), I would seriously
consider changing doctors if possible. It sounds like your doctor is
not at all knowlegable about, or interesting in BECOMING knowlegable
about drug therapy during lactation. (While there are, no doubt, some
blood pressure meds that are NOT compatable, the fact that he simply told
you you had to wean shows that, while he may be interested in the well
being of your heart, he isn't very interested in the rest of you...)
